Anyone know if any group ever made soft subs for the HD raws of Haruhi? I'd love to download them and watch in HD...but I still wanna know what they are saying.

Regardless of upscale or not, this is still going to be the highest quality download of the show you can get. So the question remains...anyone seen any softsubs for these? I did once but I can't find them anymore.

The original broadcast was on stations that can't broadcast in HD.

It did later get broadcasted on an HD station, but that was an upscale as well and not a true HD broadcast. You can tell by the lack of definition in the on-screen texts, those look washed out compared to real HD. The original source material is likely in DVD resolution.

Whether those so-called "HD" raws are from that broadcast or an upscale from the original broadcast is hard to tell, but either way you can't magically squeeze out quality by just making the picture bigger. Anyone who thinks the HD raws are somehow sharper is deluding themselves.

Well, whatever you want to think there dude, you've still to state a source of this information. I've seen screens of the "HD" raws that I'm downloading and they DO look better than the subbed ones A.F.K. made available to us.

If these "HD" raws I'm downloading aren't real, then they have to be upscaled by the encoder because the torrent was uploaded on August 3rd, which if I remember correctly is very shortly the release of the 14th episode.
