Looks like Haruhi (chrono) order, but if you get the Collector's editions you'll get DVD's in Kyon (broadcast) order as bonuses.

The site is rong. The ASOS site got updated with a video about the set.

Vol 2 has Haruhi's armband (YAY!), Vol 3 has Haruhi's character CD, Vol 4 has the Tsumeawase single (God Knows, etc.).

The box holds up to 6 CDs...damn, do fucking want.

the price, i would say is worth it. If you look at what comes with them:

Example approx. prices - DVD SE Set 01:
1) DVD in Haruhi (Chrono) Order - $20
2) DVD in Kyon (Broadcast) Order - $20
3) teh XBAWKS HUEG box - $5~10
4) Pencil Board - $3~4 (Remember they're collector's edition pencil boards.)
5) Haruhiism Iron-on Logo - $5
6) Haruhi's Ribbon - $3~4 (May depend on material it's made of.)
7) Hare Hare Yukai CD - $10

Approximately comes out to: $66~73.

god.. this is like spending the same amount for the R2 DVDs... dunno if I wanna do that again, plus I have a 1/2 the extras included with the collector editions already.

I will say, though, those are some great extras and probably one of the best offers I've seen in a long time.

They are pricey, but it looks like they're stuffing quite a bit into the Collector's Editions, moreso than most CEs. The standard edition DVD's will be coming in at standard prices, but without all the added loot, of course.

Of course, TCO of the entire Collector's Edition in North America will be less than the Japanese standard editions, because we'll get more eps per disc.

I assume that the first DVD will have the Mikuru-run and Melancholy 1 and 2 episodes, since those are the first 3 episodes regardless of Haruhi and Kyon order.

That's an unusual decision to have the Kyon Order Bonus DVD's be sub-only. I guess they figure that the otaku, I mean fans that insist on Kyon Order (and are willing to pony up the extra $$$ for the CE's) don't really care about the dub.

More expensive than I expected, but also comes with a WHOLE lot more than I expected as well.

I'm just disappointed that people new to the series will most likely see it in Chronological Order. One of the best things about the series, to me, was the Broadcast Order and me piecing it all together myself. But still, by the end of the year I see my pillows in these pillowcases.

I like Haruhi, but that is way too much. Honestly, a lot of the stuff they are offering in the box sets has either no use for me because I am a guy or most of the things we bought already, such as the CD's or the armband. I'll just stick with the normal DVD's.
